Meet the team at Sun Rose Care
Acting Registered Manager
I have been working in the care sector since 1987 - in hospitals, domiciliary care agencies and end of life hospice at home. During the time I was working in the caring professions I saw there could be a more compassionate way to provide support to those needing it in my community.
I decided to set up something a little different, a smaller more individual, independent care service. We are of course a domiciliary care agency but our approach is that we are in service. We are now steadily growing here in Lewes, Brighton and across the South East and London. Such is the demand for a more compassionate ethos.
I practised as a Nutrition Consultant for more than 20 years and can advise on diet and healthy living. I did the Living Well Dying Well training to be a support for those at the end of life and their families. In my spare time I like to write, hike, travel, read, dance and meet new people.
I recently started at Sun Rose Care in April 2019. I am one of the seniors and part of my role is to meet new clients and complete risk assessments, reviews, and ensure their beginning with Sun Rose Care goes smoothly.
I've been working in the care industry since 1996. I have worked in nursing homes, care homes, rehabilitation and community care. I also have personal experience as a carer, having cared for family. I have NVQ 2&3 in health & social care.
I love meeting all the clients, hearing their stories, meeting their families, taking them out, but the best part for me is the one to one time because it's not rushed and it allows time for a strong working relationship to build.
I have over 10 years experience in the care field, working as a home care support worker and then joining Sun Rose Care and moving into admin work in the office.
After completing an accredited course in Social Media my role at Sun Rose Care has now developed into monitoring and maintaining our social media presence as well as making sure our website is up to scratch and designing marketing material. I also monitor staff training and help organise in-house training events.
I work part-time running sessions in a charity run day centre for adults with learning disabilities. I have always been passionate about helping others and supporting them to achieve their goals and I completed an evening course in counselling and listening skills to help me do this.
I have a BA in the arts and have always had creative interests and hobbies which I am working towards developing. I love to travel and explore the world and also hold strong importance in a healthy lifestyle; eating well and keeping active.
