Community Key Worker
We are looking for a Community Key Worker to join our growing team here in our offices in Lewes. We are a compassionate care service / agency - known for our compassion, personal touch and for our cooking! We are independent and niche. This enables us to be able to give our clients a personal touch. We have recently had our CQC inspection and have had all goods in our results.
Our clients are in Lewes and surrounding villages. No 15 minute calls. We are a domiciliary care agency and also we cover some live in care. This can be a part time or full time role but must include some weekends and some evenings.
This is a permanent contract and pay is on a salary - depending on experience and training and how long you work with us. This is an exciting role for the right candidate, as there is room for career progression and also some time spent in the office to learn care office skills. You must be willing to work a rolling rota with a mix of early morning - 8 am - and evenings as well as some week ends. Our shifts are 8 - 4 and 12 - 7.30 / 8 roughly. There is a shared on call weekend rota which is paid on top of your salary. Usually 1 on call week end in 4 or 5. You may occasionally be asked to do 1 - 2 days live in care, if a live in carer has to leave a job suddenly.
As a key worker you will be working under a Senior Carer and also our managers. You will have full training. But you must have worked in care for at lease 1 year. You must be a car driver. Your job description is working in the community, in the main working as a support worker but you will also be responsible for keeping the support files in order, letting us know if anything is missing, replenishing any paperwork. Helping the Seniors do shadows and spot checks. Liaising between clients and the office to update us and support the client in any needs which may bed changing. Letting the care team know of any updates. You will also be in the office for training and some office work. Office work will be supporting the Seniors but also answering phones and helping with admin tasks.
We offer a pension plan, holiday pay, free training and a mileage allowance. We will support you in your career progression. A key worker is a Senior Carer in training so we are happy for you to be working towards becoming a Senior. This job role would suit either someone already working as a key worker or someone who is an experienced community support worker who wishes to progress.
You do need a background in care and to be experienced in working in the care arena. It is desirable that you have a minimum training level of NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care. We are happy for you to be working towards this and to have the Care Certificate in the interim. You must be a car driver.
